Blue Mountain Avionics Digital Autopilot System
$3,500.00
Digital Autopilot
The Digital Autopilot is an all digital, self calibrating, two axis Autopilot system designed specifically for the EFIS/One & EFIS/Lite. It incorporates the latest in small, high torque mini DC motors, a high quality aerospace grade gearbox, a high resolution position encoder and a magnetic clutch all enclosed in a single aircraft quality aluminum housing.
The Autopilot system uses the full complement of internal inertial sensors of the EFIS/One or EFIS/Lite to precisely detect aircraft movement in all three axes. Other internal sensors for airspeed and altitude also play a roll in the function and operation of the Autopilot providing the best dynamic performance possible. Compare the BMA Digital Autopilot to the Trutrak DFC-250. You can buy and EFIS/Lite and our Digital AP for less!
Since the Autopilot system software has access to the all sensors and limitation settings of the aircraft, it can act in a intelligent fashion to increase overall safety. For example, the AP system will limit a climb rate such that airspeed is never reduced below Vy. Although not currently implemented, the AP could also warn if a given flight path, say using a gs/loc signal, was not taking you to a runway, or if a given flight path took you too close to terrain. External AP made by other manufactures don't have available to them the wealth of data that is available to the AP system software in the EFIS/One.
The Autopilot functionality is easily accessed through a signal button on the EFIS/ One bezel or remote keypad for the EFIS/Lite. Upon pressing the AP button a simple, easy to understand, menu is shown allowing the pilot to select the various features of the autopilot system. That's all there is to it. The AP can be disengaged three different ways: a remotely mounted disengage momentary switch, usually yoke mounted, by pressing the AP button on the bezel and pushing the concentric knob or by removing power from the AP subsystem with an AP master switch. When the BMA Digital Autopilot is not engaged, there will be no drag on the aircraft controls. Most autopilot systems don't completely disengage from the flight controls and can be felt by the pilot in today's modern aircraft that have light control forces and small movement. BMA uses an electro-magnetic clutch which provides both a safety factor and makes our system impossible to detect, by the pilot, when not in use.
FEATURES:
Track any selected course using a Course Bug on the EHSI.
Track any selected heading using a Heading Bug on the EHSI.
Track and fly a GPS flight plan from the EFIS/One built in GPS receiver.
Track an external NAV receiver signal for the selected VOR radial (EFIS/Lite requires an UPS Garmin SL30 radio).
Track a Localizer and Glideslope signal from an external NAV receiver.
Climb at a given rate (feet/min).
Fly to and hold at a specific altitude.
The kit includes everything you need. Two servos, interconnect cables from the servos to the servo controller and a single cable from the controller to the EFIS/One or EFIS/Lite. The components can be mounted in any orientation or location. All aircraft sensing data is provided by the EFIS/One or EFIS/Lite.

Op Technologies Flight Op 200 Multi-Function Display (MFD)
$0.00
Flight Op 200 MFD
The Flight Op 200 Multi-Function Display (MFD) is the second in a line of avionics display systems developed by Op Technologies. The MFD is designed to operate as a stand-alone display, or to complement the Flight Op 200 EFIS. If necessary, the MFD can back up the EFIS by becoming an EFIS display with the press of a button. It features large 10.4 or 8.4 inch liquid-crystal sunlight readable, color display, and an intuitive pilot interface similar to the EFIS to allow minimal training to use the system. The MFD is fully integrated with the EFIS and with other avionics systems to produce an integrated flight deck solution. Flight plans can be entered and modified from either screen and they will be synched to the other display automatically. Engine sensors are interfaced with either system and the engine gauges can be displayed on either the EFIS or MFD screen.
The Flight Op MFD is designed to interface with a variety of navigation and communication radios, TCAD traffic and collision alert devices, real-time weather receivers, lightning strike finders and with the 10.4" display, a forward-looking infrared camera. Data from these devices can be displayed on the MFD and EFIS to allow for a variety and mixture of situational awareness displays. Aviation radios can be tuned from our MFD, eliminating the need to divert attention from the display to tune the radio. The MFD can be used to display engine instruments, or a combination of engine instruments and a navigation display. Engine instrumentation can be easily customized to an individual installation by using the system's setup menus. After installation, a series of setup menus can be used to customize the engine instruments to the airplane that the system is installed on. The system is designed to be compatible with single or twin engine, piston or turbine powered airplanes.
The Flight Op MFD navigation display consists of a full-color moving map which is
driven by the system’s internal GPS receiver. In addition, it may be desirable to
interface the system to panel-mounted GPS receivers. Symbology used for the moving
map is similar to that of paper navigation charts so additional training is not required to
use it. The navigation display also includes a terrain warning overlay which can to
displayed for additional situational awareness or suppressed to de-clutter the display.
Situational awareness can be further enhanced by displaying data received from traffic
systems, lightning strike finders or real-time weather receivers on the moving map.
Flight plans are entered and displayed on the navigation display and direct-to navigation
and nearest search keys lower the heads-down time required for flight planning. When
flying approach procedures, the MFD displays a full screen approach plate view that
shows the aircraft location in both the lateral and vertical planes. Autopilot coupling
provides control throughout the approach procedure and the missed approach is
automatically selected if needed.
The active flight plan, and the predicted time at each waypoint can be continuously
displayed or hidden to further de-clutter the navigation display. Frequencies for airports
in the flight plan and the destination airport can be obtained at any time by using a
COMM hot key and entering the desired airport. The heading bug can be set by
pressing the HDG hot key and dialing in the new heading.
Software and navigation database updates are accomplished by simply inserting a data
card with the update into the card reader in the display unit and powering the unit on.

Op Technologies Flight Op EFIS
$22,500.00 $22,039.00 On Sale!
F2220
The Flight Op EFIS is the most advanced EFIS available for experimental aircraft instrument panels. It
features advanced functionality such as WAAS/GPS, synthetic vision with integrated terrain warning and
traffic and highway-in-the sky in the attitude indicator, a full color moving map, flight planning and engine
instrumentation and monitoring all displayed on large, sunlight-readable 10.4” (diagonal) screens with
1024x768 resolution. The display units are available in either a portrait or landscape orientation to
accommodate a variety of instrument panels.
Op Technologies sets the standard for EFIS technology with advanced features including an optional FLIR camera interface to provide unparalleled situational awareness in day or night or any weather conditions. The EFIS is an integrated display system designed to provide total situational awareness with intuitive displays available in a variety of screen sizes. The EFIS combines a Primary Flight Display and a Multi-function Display in a single screen with easy-to-use menus.
The Flight Op Synthetic Vision includes not only real-time synthetic vision with highway in the sky but the display of airports with runway detail in the attitude indicator. Lowering pilot workload and increasing safety is the first priority and the display gives you the peace of mind of approach guidance down to the runway. For additional situational awareness, even unusable runway and the center line are shown to help you line up the approach.
When you're flying in crowded airspace the Flight Op EFIS has you covered. The display units can be interfaced with either a Mode S transponder or the Ryan TCAD to provide you with a real-time display of traffic information in both the attitude indicator and the full-color moving map. Traffic symbols are color-coded to allow you to quickly recognize any traffic at your altitude or on a possible collision course and take action. With the optional FLIR camera, the traffic can even be "visually" identified.
The Flight Op EFIS is the obvious choice for your experimental aircraft. The EFIS was designed to allow for installation in a wide variety of aircraft by a builder or professional installer. Intuitive set-up menus walk the installer through a number of configuration options to customize the display to the aircraft it is installed in. The ranges, limits and units on the instrumentation and the aircraft's engine probes are identified during this process. The flexibility of the system allows for installation in a piston or turbine aircraft and the entire process is accomplished in the cockpit without the use of an external keyboard.
