In flight environments that demand an ever-increasing amount of attention, pilots need a higher level of situational awareness. The Bendix/King KGP 560 Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System (EGPWS) incorporates much of the same terrain database technology found in our air transport EGPWS, while specifically protecting light turbine and piston aircraft from the threat of Controlled Flight Into Terrain (CFIT). Based on Honeywell's proven CFIT alerting algorithms, our EGPWS provides advanced alerting while virtually eliminating nuisance warnings.

Offering a unique combination of look-ahead algorithms, comprehensive terrain and obstacle databases and multi-level alerting capabilities, our GA-EGPWS systems provide enhanced situational awareness and the most advanced protection against Controlled Flight Into Terrain (CFIT).

CFIT is one of the leading causes of General Aviation fatalities. In addition to being TSO'd to C151 Class B TAWS requirements, the KGP 560 provides worldwide terrain database coverage, broken down into three regions - Americas, Pacific or Atlantic. The terrain display depicts terrain ahead of the aircraft, MSL altitude, Magnetic Track, Range in nm, and the elevation of the highest and lowest terrain features shown on the display.

Terrain is represented by different colors, adjusting as your aircraft altitude changes.Terrain can be shown ranging from 2.5 nm to 320 nm and viewed at 360° or a 120° forward-looking view.

Key Benefits of EGPWS: CFIT protection in a compact package Meets TSO-C151 Class B requirements Worldwide terrain database coverage Weight: 1.5 lbs. (0.68 kg) Power Required: 10-32 VDC

Bendix/King KMH-880 Multi-Hazard Awareness System for the KMD 550/850
$41,195.00 $34,270.00 On Sale!
With more than 10,000 TCAS II/ACAS II installations on more than 325 aircraft types, Honeywell is a top choice in collision avoidance for airline and corporate pilots. Honeywell has combined the unmatched flexibility of Integrated Hazard Avoidance System with the reliability and capability of an active-interrogation Traffic Advisory System (TAS) to create the KMH 880 Multi-Hazard Awareness System. This system pairs the KTA 870, which delivers TAS, with the KGP 560 Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System - making this a powerful duo for safety in the sky.

Traffic; The Bendix/King traffic systems can track up to 60 aircraft and display information on up to 30. Eight pilot-selectable ranges from 2 nm to 40 nm show three levels of intruders: non-threat, proximity intruder and Traffic Advisory (TA).

The KMH 880 features two directional antennas, each weighing less than a pound, and taking up a third the space of traditional TCAS antennas. The directional antennas, one placed on top of your aircraft, the other on the bottom, minimize own-aircraft shadowing and maximize range. A bottom omni-directional antenna is also available for aircraft with fixed gear.

Measuring only 3.5 in. wide by 5.95 in. deep and weighing less than a pound, the KA 815 directional antenna is the smallest and lightest TCAS antenna available today, simplifying installation, minimizing interference with existing antennas and reducing drag.

The KMH 880 benefits from flexible display volumes. The system displays aircraft up to 8,700 feet above or below your aircraft. On takeoff, you can select the "above" view, and the system will display traffic 8,700 feet above and 2,700 feet below to concentrate on the space above you; on approach, you can select "below"and the system will display traffic 2,700 feet above and 8,700 feet below. Enroute, a "normal" selection will track aircraft 2,700 feet above and below your aircraft.

Key Benefits of TAS: Active interrogation. Displays traffic up to 40 nm. Tracks up to 60 targets. Displays up to 30 targets. Displays 8 ranges from 2 nm to 40 nm. Antenna weighs less than a pound. 1200-knot closure rate. Up to 10,000 feet per minute vertical track rate.

Terrain: Incorporating much of the same terrain database technology found in our air transport EGPWS, our GA-EGPWS was specifically developed to protect light turbine and piston aircraft from the threat of Controlled Flight Into Terrain (CFIT). Based on Honeywell's proven CFIT alerting algorithms, our EGPWS provides advanced alerting while virtually eliminating nuisance warnings.

taws.jpg Sandel ST-3400 Class B TAWS/RMI
$0.00
CALL FOR CURRENT PRICING!

The Sandel ST3400 TAWS/RMI is the industry's first self-contained Class-B system that includes an integrated full-color, multi-screen, edge-to-edge display with a built-in RMI function. Because the ST3400 is a self-contained TAWS system that can replace an existing RMI installation, cost and downtime can be half that of a standard TAWS system. The ST3400 color display provides full-time situational awareness that greatly enhances flight safety. Unlike radar display overlay systems the real-time graphics move with the aircraft heading instantly. The easy to install standard 3ATI chassis has minimal or no impact on existing panel layouts and instantly upgrades your old mechanical RMI to the latest digital color technology. Sandel's "Smart-Interface" technology allows use with both analog and digital RMI's and an aircraft resident software module makes configuration easy. Intuitive and easy to use the ST3400 requires minimal crew training. The patented edge-to-edge rear projection display technology provides a 4" viewing area that is sharp, brilliant, and direct sunlight readable. The 3" Sandel ST3400 TAWS display area is equal in size to a 4" mechanical display. The ST3400 uses Jeppesen terrain and obstacle data to develop the TAWS terrain alerts, and this data is available in 30-arc second and 15-arc second formats. The higher resolution 15-arc second data is available for airports within the US and some international airports. The ST3400 will support both single and dual unit installations, and will even display information from the Goodrich Skywatch® traffic warning systems. It operates with older-generation 0-2,000 foot Radar Altimeters, and features a “smart” algorithm that reduces nuisance alerts. This allows pilots to make precision or non-precision approaches to runways while the ST3400 TAWS analyzes the approach to the runway. “Nuisance alerts” are reduced, while the technology averts the premature suppression of alerts. Another industry first is Sandel’s full product warranty for as long as the original operator owns the unit. A full complement of audio outputs for cautions/warnings and discrete outputs for master caution and warning are provided. The front-mounted USB connector loads data high speed at 12 MB/s from a PC. Our Special sale Price includes installation and Class B certification in most turbine powered aircraft in our Punta Gorda facilities.

HOT TIP!! The Sandel ST3400 TAWS / RMI is the logical choice for most turbine aircraft. Aircraft in this category most always have RMI's and little if any space for another 3" instrument. Replacing the old RMI with the ST3400 instantly updates the aircraft to an advanced color TAWS system while upgrading the old RMI it replaces.
