The RCA 11A series of vacuum directional gyros utilizes an air driven precision gyroscope that controls a vertical rotating azimuth gimbal. The RCA 15 Series electric directional gyro employs an electronically driven gyro motor and is a direct reading, azimuth indicator. Rotor run up time is 3 minutes. They have a built in inverter which converts aircraft DC power to the required AC voltage and frequency. May be used in both fixed wing and rotor aircraft. Size: 33/8 x 33/8 x 6.7. Fits in standard 31/8 panel cutout. Weight 2.3 lbs. maximum. Power failure flag drops into view when supply voltage is lost or has dropped below a level for proper operation of the gyro. The RCA 22 Series vacuum artificial horizon gyro is controlled by an air driven precision gyro to present the pilot with pitch and roll information. The attractive color scheme of blue sky and brown ground presents a realistic spherical display of flight. Also, the very popular blue/black display is available. This instrument has a zero pitch adjustment knob. Size 3 3/8 x 3 3/8 X 6. Fits in standard 3 1/8 panel cutout. Weight 2.4 lb. Maximum Power 4-5 Hg. vacuum or pressure. The RCA 22 series of instruments has proven itself to be one of the most reliable instruments ever manufactured and has been standard equipment on many of the general aviation airplanes for the last 40 years. The RCA 22 series meets or exceeds FAA TSO C4c and Aeronautical Standard AS396.
