The Shadin AMS-2000 is our most affordable and easy to use altitude
management and alerting system. Although packed with features, the AMS-2000
has just one dial and an adjustable bright red display. Simply enter the current
barometric pressure and your assigned altitude. Adjustable audio and visual
deviation warnings will help keep you safe of altitude violations. The system
will guide you through climb and smooth capture of your target altitude as
a level-off warning is sounded and displayed at a distance from assigned altitude
that you assign. It provides Time-based altitude alerting (as opposed to fixed
altitude buffers), notifying you fifteen (15) seconds before an altitude target
or limit is reached, regardless of rate of climb or descent. For effortless
approaches, enter your destination elevation for a gear-down reminder at 1000
ft., and for subsequent alert and display at MDA or decision height intercept.
At any time, enter OAT and the system automatically calculates and displays
density altitude, and true aircraft/engine performance percentages. It even
shows Real-time IVS, without the inherent lag of the aircraft's static system.
For the greatest degree of accuracy add the Shadin Falcon high resolution
encoder which provides time-based capture of target altitude, instantaneous
vertical speed, and digital display of altitude in 10 ft. instead of 100 ft.
increments.

The P2 Sky Buddy is a new device that's becoming very popular.
Remembering heading and altitude instructions from ATC is a lot simpler with
the P2. No more scratch pads, no more setting altitudes in your ADF head and
no fumbling for a pen and paper. Whether you fly VFR or IFR, this portable,
compact device does it all for you.
Simply plug the Sky Buddy into a power source (either 12 or
24 volt), and you are up and running. The unit can be flush mounted with Velcro
(included) or an optional dash mounting bracket can be ordered.
Easy-to-read LED displays are used to insure clear viewing in
both daylight and nighttime conditions. The illumination has five selectable
levels to suit your individual needs and is quickly changed by pushing the
"DIM" button.
Operation is as simple as twisting a knob. By turning either
knob clockwise, the numbers increase. Turning a knob counter-clockwise, the
numbers decrease. When a knob is pushed in momentarily, the pilot then has
the ability to change the resolution (see specifications) to suit the situation.
For example, when being vectored, you will use the HEADING window in 5 degree
increments and when flying an airway or shooting an approach, the 1 degree
increments would be more appropriate. The same operation applies in the ALTITUDE
reminder window. While enroute, set your cruise altitude with the appropriate
resolution of 100 or 1000¹ (say 4500¹ VFR or 5000¹ IFR). When on an approach,
the pilot could set the MDA, say 1120¹, or field elevation rounded to the
nearest 10 feet.
The Sky Buddy is made to professional standards both inside
and out. The enclosure and knobs are machined from aluminum, not plastic,
and has a tough black matte finish so as to withstand years of usage. The
product is backed by a 12 month factory warranty.
